Ignoring the possibility of examining the rightmost room by candlelight, you walk towards the door at the end of the hall. As you approach, you notice some rotted boards in the floor. Jumping back just in time, a large hole forms right in front of you. After the dust settles, you peer over the hole, to see a basement floor littered with broken wood and dust. You can probably reach the bottom safely by holding on to the remaining beams, though you hear something unhappy scurrying about in there.

You could jump down to try to scare the unseen creature,
carefully descend and hope whatever it is won't mind you coming down,
or jump over the hole to reach the door.
